"Entering into the riches of Christ, by grace through faith"
Introduction
A Passion for Faith & Grace is a Christian Web site, it's main purpose is to promote and encourage believers to enjoy the full blessings of their faith. If you are not a believer you still very welcome to come and take a look and I hope you will find encouragement (especially the section Why Christianity ?).
Stephen Brown in his book "Heirs with the Prince" tells this Story :
Two balloonists had become lost somewhere over France. When they
managed to get the balloon down , they shouted to a man, "Hey! could you tell us
where we are?" The man called back, "You are in a balloon." One of
the balloonists turned to the other and said, "He must be an accountant. The
information is accurate, but it is useless!"
Therefore, my desire is for this web site to be useful, that it will help
people fulfill their potential in life through Christ's power, by cultivating a passion
for faith in Christ and an appreciation of the grace he freely gives us. The two pages Theological Thoughts and God's
Promises are there for exactly that, also there is a Devotional
page which gives a short help for the day. A friend of mine, Brian Midmore has just
completed some excellent theological essay's, Midmores essay's
look at the teachings of Paul, the teachings of Calvin and the Reformation. Just added is
a page called Quotes which gives some useful insights by great men
of God and Resolutions which contains 11 areas to help us
focus each day. For those who are after a deeper exegetical study and analysis the Other Sites page has been designed for this . Why Christianity is a look at the answer Christianity gives to the
everyone's individual search for happiness and if you want a discussion i have set up a Reformed Doctrine Forum for
anyone to join and feel free to share their views.
You will also find a page with Recommended Books, containing
a list of those books I have used. If at any time you have queries, the Contact me page is there for you to ask
me anything you want and find out more about the church I belong to. In addition
to all the above the Notes page contains Reformed sermons,
on a variety of subjects by great reformed writers and also sermons which put
forward the case for New Covenant Theology.
You may ask why I have chosen Faith & Grace ? Well, I believe that these two truths are the cornerstone of anyone's relationship in Christ and God wants his people to live fully satisfied and happy lives, delighting in their God. He wants us to receive all his riches and be consumed by his grace. So what are Faith & Grace ?
FAITH - "is the substance of things hoped for" (Hebrews 11 v1). Throwing
ourselves and our lives upon God with the confidence that the price has been paid
for our sins. But it's essence is " the deep satisfaction with
all that God promises to be for us in Christ Jesus - beginning now" ( Future Grace -
John Piper).
GRACE - God's unmerited favour towards us. "The pardon of God
in passing over your sins, but also the power and beauty of God to keep you from sinning.
The purpose of our salvation is for God to lavish the riches of his grace on us, and it
will take him forever to do it" (Future Grace - John Piper)
Therefore a Passion for Faith & Grace is a
lifelong desire to appreciate all the riches God has bestowed to us through
Christ and Christ becoming the deep satisfaction and treasure of our hearts
and lives.
